The elections will take place on Thursday 4 May in England, and two weeks later, on Thursday 18 May, in Northern Ireland.
Winners in all categories will be honored at the GDCA award ceremony on March 23, which is taking place in-person (and also virtually) at the 2022 Game Developers Conference (GDC) at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center. As Cody and May, embark on a crazy journey built purely for two in couch co-op or online through Friend’s Pass. Deck-building game Inscryption from indie developer Daniel Mullins and Capcom’s horror game Resident Evil Village round out the nominees for the coveted best game award. Racing game Forza Horizon 5 from Playground Games follows behind with four nominations, also including the GOTY category.

The Academy and its Board of Directors thank all of the people who serve as Peer Panelists and generously volunteer their time to determine finalists. The title is taken from the song of the same name by Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston, which is played in the closing credits. It will then take a vote on whether to send the nomination to the full Senate for confirmation. It Takes Two is a 1995 American romantic comedy film starring Kirstie Alley, Steve Guttenberg, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Tying for six nominations each are Inscryptionand It Takes Two, with Returnal earning five nods, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Resident Evil Village each taking four.
